Hardik was named man-of-the-match, becoming only the third captain to win the award in an IPL final.

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Hardik said he wanted to show what he had worked hard for at the right time.

“I wanted to show at the right time what I worked hard for. Today (Sunday) was the day from a bowling point of view that I saved the best for the best,” Hardik Pandya told Star Sports.

Hardik Pandya rocked the Royals with the wickets of Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer. In fact, he removed Samson with the second ball of his spell on Sunday.

“The second ball of my spell when I got Sanju out saw that if you hit the wicket hard and hit the seam something is going to happen. It’s all about sticking to the right lengths, asking the batters to play the right shots For me, my team is the most important, I’ve always been that kind of person.

“If I had a worse season and my team wins, I will accept that. Batting is my number one priority and will always be close to my heart. When we closed the auction, it was clear that I had to beat higher for guide,” said Hardik.
