IPL 2022: The Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai will host 15 matches in the competition phase of the new season with 10 teams.

Brabourne Stadium
The Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai is one of the oldest cricket grounds in India. Founded in 1937, the ground has played some memorable moments in Indian cricket, including Sachin Tendulkar’s first-class double hundred. Brabourne Stadium has hosted only one T20I and 11 Indian Premier League matches in the past.
Brabourne is one of three venues to host IPL 2022 matches in Mumbai after the city was chosen, along with Pune, to host the new 10-team season.
With a capacity of 20,000 spectators, the stadium was a regular testing venue from 1948 to 1972. International cricket returned to the Brabourne when it hosted the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy and it was the venue for the first T20I to be held in India in 2007 played.
The stadium was also home to Mumbai Indians in the 2010 Indian Premier League (IPL) following the unavailability of the Wankhede Stadium as it was renovated for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. It also hosted the 2014 IPL Eliminator- match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
Brabourne Stadium has a seating capacity of 20,000. Church Gate End and Pavillion End are the two ends of the iconic site.
Brabourne will return to hosting IPL matches when Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals go head-to-head on March 22.
The 10 teams play a total of 14 league matches (7 home matches and 7 away matches) in a total of 70 league matches, followed by 4 play-offs. Each team plays against 5 teams twice and the remaining 4 teams only once (2 home only and 2 away only).
