‘Lalithyam’, a tribute concert in memory of vocalist B Lalitha

On the occasion of the first death anniversary of Carnatic singer B Lalitha of the Hyderabad Sisters, Varna Arts Academy in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Government of Telangana will host an evening of tribute ‘Lalithyam’ at 6:00 PM on March 23 in Ravindra Bharati.

On the evening there is also a concert by B. Haripriya, Lalitha’s sister, who has not given concerts since her sister’s death.

The artists performing on this occasion are Aruna Padma, Hemavathi Hosur, JV Tejaswini Madhavi, Chivukula Malavika Anand, Mantha Srinivas, Penumudi BN Yasaswi, Sarada Janaswamy, Smitha Madhav and Sudhakar Bhagavathula.

They are joined by Akkarai S. Subhalakshmi, Akkarai S. Sornalatha, DSR Murthy, K. Shyam Kumar, P. Vaishnavi, R. Sudhakar and K. Uma Venkateswarlu.

V. Srinivas Goud, Minister of Prohibition and Excise, Tourism, Culture and Archaeology, Govt of Telangana will be the main guest and Prof. BJ Rao Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad and Prof. KVR Chary Director, IISER Berhampur will be the guests of honour.
