It has been 28 months since Virat Kohli reached the international 100. Every time the former captain walks out to hit in Inda suits, a 3 digit score is expected from him, but that number 71 eludes the star batter.
Virat Kohli’s Hundred Drought has become a major talking point in the cricket community and it became apparent on Saturday when a fangirl held up a cheeky poster during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL 2022 match against Mumbai Indians at MCA Stadium in Pune.
“I won’t date until Virat’s 71,” the banner at MCA Stadium read that the broadcasters didn’t miss. The said woman had a huge smile on her face even when she appeared on screen during the thrilling match in Mumbai.

Kohli had been through a lean spell in international cricket, especially in Tests. The last 6 months have been eventful in his career as she gave up the T20I captaincy before being fired as ODI captain. He has unexpectedly stepped down as India’s Test captain following the defeat of India’s Test series in South Africa earlier this year.
However, with the captaincy burden off his shoulders in IPL 2022, Kohli is showing signs of returning to form for RCB. After starting the new season with an impressive 42 loss against Punjab Kings, Kohli was dominant in his 48 knockout against Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
RCB had an opening score of 50 runs, but it took a while for new skipper Faf du Plessis to struggle for the ball amid the chase of 152. After du Plessis’ dismissal, Kohli joined young opener Anuj Rawat to snag an 80 run mode.
Kohli was busy from the start and seemed ready to take RCB past the finish line. However, in the 19th over, Kohli LBW was judged. The former captain was furious at the controversial decision as he slammed his bat on the way back to the pavilion before RCB took the win 2 balls later.
