- The Royals will face GT in the final on Sunday
Rajasthan Royals (RR) fast bowler Trent Boult donated his Indian Premier League (IPL) jersey to a fanboy after his team defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Qualifier 2 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In a video uploaded to the Royals’ Twitter handle, Boult was seen taking off his jersey and handing it to the young child.
The boy, hilariously, also took his shift before Boult said he didn’t need it. Boult gave his sweater to one of the members of the Royals, who then gave it to the young boy. After getting the New Zealand pacer jersey, the boy was happy and put it on.
Boult was in some pretty impressive form in the 2022 IPL. The left arm pacer has picked up 15 wickets from as many matches with an economy of 8.24 which is pretty decent bearing in mind that he operates in the power play and in the dead.
The Royals have already qualified for the IPL 2022 final and will face Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans (GT) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 29.
After Friday’s game, Samson admitted that it was an arduous journey for his team in the T20 competition. But he also praised RR for stepping up and improving their game in the crunch moments.
“It was really tough. But we are used to bouncing back in the IPL. It is a long tournament where you go up and down. The wicket, bowling first, was a bit tacky and helped the fast bowlers. The bounce was good, which made it easier to hit the spinners. But our fast bowlers threw really well,” said Samson.
