Update May 24, 4:59 PM ET: Sony has sold out of PS5 consoles for this restock.
Update May 24, 4:30 PM ET: This console addition from Sony is for new boxed bundles of the PS5 with Horizon Forbidden West including. The cost of this bundle with the disc-equipped PS5 is $549.99, reflecting a $20 discount off the game’s $69.99 price.
The latest stock of hard-to-find PlayStation 5 consoles has arrived. Sony has opened a public queue for you to join now for a chance to buy a $499 PlayStation 5 with a disc drive. We also expect Sony to have the $399 PS5 Digital Edition without a disc drive on offer, as well as your choice of accessories and games. Sony has routinely offered invite-only options to buy a PS5, but recently it has also offered public options, allowing anyone with a PSN account to take a shot at buying a console.
Make sure to line up right away with your PlayStation Network account credentials, as you’ll need to log in to checkout. Although the Sony site often gives an estimated wait time of an hour or more, it is important to be patient. Some people may be lucky with a much shorter wait at the beginning, while others may have a long road ahead from the start. We’ve recently seen people with an hour wait manage to get in and buy a console. I have also personally seen my timer go up to 11 minutes before climbing back up and eventually ending.
It may seem like a bit of crap, but if you can get into it, you can buy a console without needing an expensive bundle. Please note that Sony has a limit of one console per PSN account.
Good luck in the queue and remember that you don’t have to refresh the page.
While you wait in line…
Sony has a selection of games and accessories to buy alongside your console, but here are some options to consider that we always recommend – whether you’re looking for exclusive games or colorful accessories.
