TikTok appears to be testing a new Watch History feature that should save you from the mental anguish of finding that video you could have sworn you saved, as reported by TechCrunch† It looks like TikTok can finally give us an easy way to browse a running list of the videos we’ve seen in the app.
Social Media Advisor Matt Navarra findings retweeted from Twitter user Hammod Oh, who regularly discovers new features on various social platforms. Oh’s screenshot shows that the “Watch History” option will appear under the “Content & Activity” heading of your settings.
There’s still not much detail about what the Watch History page will look like or how your previously watched videos will be curated. The edge contacted TikTok about the potential feature, but did not immediately hear back.
The absence of a Watch History button has led most of us to look for workarounds – and while there are some, they’re not nearly as simple as just tapping a Watch History button. a process involves filtering your search results by videos you’ve seen, while another requires you to download all your TikTok data to find a single video. If TikTok comes through with this feature, it should save us all a lot of time.
